To ensure the efficient energy use of municipal institutions, precise information is needed: how much energy do the buildings consume, how does their consumption change, and where is intervention justified? Digital energy management systems help answer these questions, supporting day-to-day operations and the planning of longer-term developments.
Clarity Consulting provides technical expertise and consulting support to several winning municipalities in the preparation and implementation of projects related to the DIMOP Plusz-2.1.1-24 – Development and Implementation of Energy Management Systems for Municipalities program.
A more accurate picture of energy use
Digitalisation in energy creates an opportunity for municipalities to gain a more detailed understanding of their institutions' energy consumption. The measurement data can help reveal operational characteristics, identify opportunities for intervention, and support operational decisions.
The information obtained in this way is also useful for investment planning: it can provide guidance on which buildings and what upgrades are worth considering. The goal of the developments is to make energy use more transparent, more consciously controllable, and optimisable in the longer term.
Around 25 buildings are affected by the development in Szekszárd
One example of the program is Szekszárd, where they plan to install more than 400 metering, sensor, and data transmission devices in approximately 25 municipal buildings.
The system to be developed will enable the monitoring of energy use and, in some cases, its regulation as well. The collected data can help assess the energy performance of buildings and set directions for further developments.
The Szekszárd project was also reported on by TEOL, presenting the planned development and the role of Clarity Consulting involved in the implementation.
In addition to technology, raising awareness is also important
For the successful use of digital systems, in addition to the devices and data, the knowledge and awareness of the people using them are also required.
Our colleague, Ottó Almacht, Manager Consultant, also emphasized the importance of conscious energy use and awareness-raising in connection with the project. In the Szekszárd program, this is supported by a dedicated training course.
