The Szeged–Timișoara Data Space, or STiDS project, aims to establish a cross-border urban data space supporting sustainable transport, air quality monitoring, and data-driven city management.
Clarity Consulting is participating as a partner in this European Union-supported international cooperation, which achieved two key professional milestones in Timișoara and Szeged.
Exchange of Experience in Timișoara
At the end of May, we attended one of the project's key professional events in Timișoara. The consortium partners presented their achievements to date and jointly reviewed the next steps of development.
During the program, we visited Timișoara's traffic control center and learned about the sensor solutions used in public transport and the city's smart infrastructure. Alongside the professional exchange of experience, there was also an opportunity for networking and discussing future joint EU funding opportunities.

Open Day in Szeged
The next important milestone of the project was the Open Day in Szeged, where interested citizens, professional partners, and members of the press could learn about the project's results and future plans.
The STiDS project in practice:
provides real-time, openly accessible transport and traffic data in Szeged;
establishes a connection with Timișoara's air quality monitoring system;
supports data sharing and cooperation between the two cities;
creates a model that can be adopted by other European cities in the future.
It was particularly gratifying to see that the attention of the local media and participants was focused on the very question at the heart of this development: how can these solutions create real value for city residents?
The STiDS project runs until August 2026. Its outcomes—including technical documentation, the governance model, and open datasets—will be accessible to any interested city.
