New Momentum at the Forefront of Digitalization and Robotization at Clarity

New Momentum at the Forefront of Digitalization and Robotization at Clarity

6 min read

For more than two decades, Clarity Consulting has been a key player in rethinking the processes and IT systems of domestic companies.

The technological leap of recent years and the pressure of digitalization on companies have raised expectations to a new level. This is why we have created our Digitalization and Robotization professional division, which brings together digitalization, robotization, and the business application of artificial intelligence within Clarity, and which will be led with new momentum by our colleague Noémi Tihanyi from the spring of 2025.

In the interview below, we spoke with Noémi about the new challenges brought by the digital transformation of corporate processes, how technological tools are changing, and how we help our clients turn these innovations into a real, sustainable business advantage.

Here at Clarity, BPR has a 20-year history, and you have also been involved in operational development for over 15 years. Are organizational processes truly facing completely new challenges?
  • Yes, I believe that we have the most exciting years ahead of us ever – for us, BPR specialists and consultants, as well as for our clients' internal operations and IT teams.

In the post-covid period, not only have the demands on processes increased – everything should be electronic, adaptively changeable, and remotely accessible for both internal use and customers – but the IT technology environment has also changed with extreme rapidity. Everyone has to adapt to this very quickly.

What technologies do you mean?
  • Technologies have become available on the market that powerfully reshape daily operational processes, rather than just tweaking them. These transformative technologies – such as AI, Robotic Process Automation ("process robotization"), and all self-service interfaces (BI or portals) – require entirely different, flexible processes, which is what we need to build. These technologies are often much easier to implement – a project can be measured in months, not years.

But then what is the difficulty in this?
  • On the one hand, these technologies are constantly changing and, moreover, converging. An RPA platform is capable of different things today than two versions ago, and AI models are capable of entirely different things today than even a month ago – in corporate environments as well. When we start an IT or BPR project, our recommendation would still be different than at the end of the project. But often, a large BPR project forgets to think through these technologies at the beginning. It comes along the way. It is very difficult to keep up with this while sitting inside an organization, and on top of that, there are many, many vendors on the market who can digitalize processes in one way or another – it is terribly difficult to choose the right technology.

Here at Clarity, we recognized this difficulty among our clients. Since we have extensive experience in thoroughly understanding organizational digitalization needs, and we are well-acquainted with technological possibilities (we ourselves implement robots and intelligent solutions), we can create the most value by matching needs and technology appropriately. And, of course, by teaching our clients about new technologies in the process.

So is it enough to just choose the right technology? Is that the key to good digitalization?
  • No. 😊 It is not enough to make a good choice; the chosen technology must also be implemented in a scalable way, otherwise, the implementation of either a process robot or an AI agent remains just a pretty pilot project. Technology can be turned into business value if it is integrated into the operational environment, the IT architecture, and the organization is taught how to shape it.

The other difficulty is that although there are no good business processes without IT today, IT and Business have never been further apart. Every IT organization is overloaded, and every business area wants to move faster – and new technologies demand this. A common solution must be found.

Is this our mission?
  • It's a cliché, but true for us: Primarily, we don't want to sell technology, but to solve business problems with a digitalization solution that fits the client's IT architecture, security, and operational expectations in the long term.

We also plan the implementation to be scalable from the very first steps – for example, in the case of RPA, we do not just install a robot, but we also help establish the governance framework, provide templates for development, and support internal competency development. The same is true for artificial intelligence solutions.

We also play an important role in ensuring that we are not the only ones who "know everything", but that the client also learns – our goal is always for the client to become increasingly independent in their own digital transformation.

Where do you think this area is heading in the next 1-2 years?
  • In my opinion, the biggest change will be that digitalization and automation will not only be a topic for IT or operational development, but part of the daily decisions of every organization. Due to AI, no-code tools, or the citizen developer phenomenon, more and more people would like to have a direct impact on their processes – but this also requires a new kind of operation, regulation, knowledge, and mindset. We will be there at this point as well to help.

How can Clarity Consulting help?
